In The Kitchen We Gather: From Soil to Soul
A poetic look at how ritual, intention, and vulnerability can change the way a meal tastes. Using food and storytelling, artists, Adobo-Fish-Sauce and Emily Rose reimagine the food rituals we have when we taste, eat, and share in the kitchen. Join us for a unique spoken word and cooking experience at Plaza Sábados hosted right next door at the REC’s YouthGROW farm.
Who Has A Voice: Radical Listening an Extended Vocality
The voice has personal, political, and planetary dimensions. Who has a voice? Do squealing glaciers have voices? What can sound tell us about the health of rivers? How have cities transformed birdsong?
In this project, I created a soundscape focused on the effects' of noise pollution to humans and animals within my community. The soundscape includes sounds commonly found in my community, such as: airplanes, car alarms, construction, loud music, buses, and more. I also paired the sound pollution with a sound bath of healing frequencies to release stress and to calm down the body and mind.
